In the exhibition titled 1,2,1,3,1,5 we present current works by the artist Oleksiy Koval, who deals with the element of rhythm in his painting. Rhythmic structures generate the painting process as a more or less regulated movement in space and time. They give the form of applying colors to surfaces. The question of what is rhythm in painting has never left Oleksiy Koval. During his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Koval sought a polarity in painting: "I wanted to avoid spatial representations and instead reproduce a difference in which the color remains on the surface and still gains a visual expanse."
